    Quick Summary

Unfortunately, I didn’t love this product for several reasons.

I chose to rate this scrub 1.5/5 stars.

This is a 100% natural body and face scrub made in Brooklyn, New York.

I tried using this both on my face and legs to test the results from two perspectives.

The product arrived very dry and required mixing it in order to get any of the oil from the bottom of the jar.

Scooping it out with my hands was messy and would usually spill or drip.

The exfoliating particles are fairly large, but not too rough and definitely exfoliate well.

The smell is one of the highlights – it is natural and soothing.

The product is black because of the charcoal, which actually leaves a film on the face and body after rinsing it off with just water.

I didn’t have any significant improvements in brightening or softness in my skin, likely because I had to wash so many times to get the product off completely.

The price is very reasonable for an all-natural product at $23.99 for 10 oz.  But in my opinion, it’s still not worth it.

    Detailed Review:

    Texture/Feel

This is a face and body scrub with large exfoliating particles.

Even though the Dead Sea Salt are large particles, it doesn’t feel too rough as long as less pressure is applied when using it on your face.

The color is black because of the charcoal, which leaves a dark film even after washing it off.

    Smell (in the bottle)

The smell is nice and light. It is an organic, soothing smell.

    Application Process

The product arrived quite separated in the jar, so I had to find something to stir it with each time I would go to use it.  That was a big pain.

Once I was ready, I’d have to scoop it out with my hands, which would leave a mess on the counter if I was exfoliating my face.

The salt was either too dry and would fall apart in my hand or the oil would drip while I was trying to exfoliate.

The product is black because of the activated charcoal and unfortunately I did end up with some trouble getting the black out of my towel.

While washing it off, I noticed there was a very fine dark film from the charcoal left on my face, which I eventually had to wash off with another face wash I had on hand.

I was afraid to dry my face without washing it with soap because I didn’t want to get more black on my towels.

The packaging does not provide guidelines in terms of frequency of use, so I started using it every 1-2 days.

    Any Drying and/or Redness?

I didn’t experience any drying or redness.

    Short Term Results

Right after use, my skin would feel soft. But I had to start using a small amount of soap after in order to get all the black off my face, which took the moisturizing benefit of the oils right off.

    Long Term Results

I didn’t notice any significant brightening or softness to my skin after using it for a long period of time.

    Ingredients

All of the ingredients were 100% natural, which I liked!

Activated charcoal has been on the rise in the beauty world from face treatments to toothpaste. It works by bringing bacteria and other unwanted toxins out of the skin.

Dead Sea Salt is another very popular product, which when processed correctly, is packed with tons of minerals that have a wide array of benefits for skin and overall health.

Coconut Oil and Aloe Vera are known moisturizers that are widely used in many exfoliators.

    Price

The price is very reasonable at $23.99 for a 10 oz jar.
