    Quick Summary

Let me start out by saying I’m completely obsessed with the Clarisonic Mia 2.  I gave it 5 out of 5 stars because I believe it is one of the best exfoliating products on the market.

I love everything about this Clarisonic except for the price.

This device is $149, which is extremely expensive!  However, after using it I would say it’s worth every penny.  And the good news is you can use it for years without having to replace it.

The Clarisonic Mia 2 is a battery powered cleansing brush that both exfoliates and cleanses your skin.  It’s 100% waterproof so it can be used in the shower on both your face and body.

The results of this device are unbelievable!

I noticed a big difference after just one use.  My skin was glowing and fresh.  After weeks of continuous use, my skin looked and felt amazing.

I could go on and on about how much I love this brush, but I’ll cut to the chase and just say I LOVE IT.

    Detailed Review:

    Texture/Feel

The Clarisonic Mia 2 is a small handheld cleansing brush.

It comes with the “sensitive brush head”. They also have brush heads to target acne and deep pore cleansing, but those are sold separately.

Oh and it comes in so many cute colors… my favorite is the pink one :)

    Application Process

The application process takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it’s pretty simple.

When you first get the Clarisonic Mia 2 the first thing you need to do is charge it for 24 hours straight.

The Clarisonic Mia 2 can be used with your daily cleanser and it’s recommended for use twice a day.

They recommend starting out on the delicate speed, and then working your way up to 2x a day to give your skin time to adjust.

To use the device, first remove any eye makeup you may have on.

Next, make sure to moisten your skin as well as the brush head.  You want to apply a very liberal amount of cleanser to either the brush head or directly to your skin.

I prefer to apply it to my skin because I felt when I applied it directly to the brush head I would run out of product before reaching all areas of my face.

Turn on your Clarisonic by pressing the power button on the handle.  The Mia 2 has two speeds: delicate and universal.  When you turn the device on it will automatically start in the universal speed, which is indicated by the upper half of the oval illuminating.

To switch to delicate speed, press the speed button (above the power button with two arrows) on the handle once.  You will see the lower half of the oval in now illuminated.  I really like that the Mia 2 has two different speeds.  I prefer the universal speed as I have pretty oily skin.  However, those of you with sensitive skin may find the delicate speed to work better for you.

The Clarisonic Mia2 will run for 60 seconds.  Start the cycle on your forehead by moving the brush in small circular motions back and forth.  The timer will go for 20 seconds then will pulse to let you know it is time to move onto the next area.

Next, move onto your nose and chin for 20 seconds, until the brush pulses.  There will then be two 10-second cycles for each cheek.  After, the 60 seconds are up the Mia 2 will automatically shut off.

When using the Clarisonic it’s  important to keep the brush close to the skin and not to use it at an angle.

Also, make sure not to apply too much pressure this will reduce the effectiveness and I’ve found it can cause irritation.  Just sit back and let the Clarisonic do the work for you.

After your 60-second cycle is up, rinse your skin and the brush head with warm water and pat your face dry.

It’s recommended to remove the brush head and clean the device once a week with warm soapy water.

The brush head can be removed by simply pushing down on the brush head and twisting it off  (similar to a medicine bottle).  The Mia 2 handle is completely waterproof.  One of my favorite thing about the product is that it can be brought it the shower or bath to use on your body as well.

It’s recommended to change out the brush head every three months because the bristles become worn down and less effective.  I was pleasantly surprised that you only need to replace it every 3 months, especially using it twice a day.

    Any Drying and/or Redness?

I didn’t experience any drying when using the Mia 2.

The first few times I used it, I had a little redness in my cheek area for a few seconds after I used it.

The redness quickly faded away, and my skin eventually adjusted.

After using the device a few times, I no longer experience any redness.  It just took a few uses for my skin to get acclimated to the device, which is very common for first time users of the Clarisonic.

    Results

I had heard so many great things about the Clarisonic I thought there was no way it could live up to all the hype… I was wrong.

I saw results after just one use and am now I‘m hooked!

Immediately after use, my skin felt cleaner than ever and all my dry spots were gone.

I’m amazed by how much residue the Clarisonic picked up from my skin.

The first time I used it I removed my face make up as I normally would before going to bed.  I then used the Clarisonic to see if it lived up to its claim of cleaning your skin 6x better than using you hands alone.  After use, I looked at the brush and it was tan… I couldn’t believe how much make up and residue this cleaned off my skin!

After continual use, my skin tone noticeably evened out.  It gently removed my patches of dead skin and really helped clear up my acne breakouts.

It deep cleaned as good as any exfoliator out there, and the awesome thing is that you can use it in conjunction with an exfoliating product.  If you decide to do this, just make sure it’s an exfoliator with round beads, not jagged pieces or else it will be too harsh on your skin.

This is the perfect accessory for any cleanser or exfoliator, or it’s great for exfoliating on its own.

    Price

The Clarisonic Mia 2 costs $149 and the replacement brush heads for the device cost $27.  This is the one thing I don’t like about this product.  It’s very expensive!  However, after seeing the results of this device I would say it’s worth every penny.
