Quick Summary

I gave Dior Instant Gentle Exfoliant 2.5 out of 5 stars because I found it to be a very average product.

My favorite things about this exfoliator are the floral scent and the packaging. The floral scent is very soothing without being overwhelming. The packaging of this product is the perfect size and easy to use.

However, I’m not a big fan of the silica beads used in this exfoliator. The beads are a little too gentle for my liking and I really didn’t like how fast they disintegrated in water.

The end result of this exfoliator? Just mediocre :(

My skin was somewhat softer, however, there were still a few areas of dead skin I was able to see after use.

Detailed Review:

Texture/Feel

Dior’s Instant Gentle Exfoliant is a white cream with a slightly grainy texture to it. The silica beads in this exfoliator are very fine and extremely gentle.

I thought the beads felt a little waxy and were too gentle, which I didn’t like.

Smell

Although it may be more of a girly scent, I really like the smell of this exfoliator.

You can definitely smell the lily, which is a pleasant smell (at least to me).

A lot of times I find floral scents to be a bit overwhelming, so I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the scent of this exfoliator.

Dior Instant Gentle Exfoliant has a perfect floral scent, which is just enough to be soothing without being overpowering.

That said, this exfoliator contains fragrance which can be irritating to those with sensitive skin.

Application Process

The instructions say to use this exfoliator 2-3 times a week. Massage into your skin using circular motions and rinse with warm water.

Although the application process seems very simple, the silica beads dissolve very quickly so you have to work fast.

I had to move the product from other areas of my face to compensate for how fast the beads disintegrated.

I really like the packaging of this exfoliator.

It comes in a small white tube, which makes the application process very clean.

It was very easy to use in both the shower or at a sink.

The tube is 2.5 oz. which I think is the perfect size.

It’s not too big to travel with or throw in an overnight bag, and not too small where you’re constantly running out.

Any Drying and/or Redness?

Dior Instant Gentle Exfoliant is very gentle and didn’t cause any dryness or irritation after use.

However, because it contains fragrance it may be irritating to those of you with sensitive skin.

Results

As I mentioned earlier, I saw very average results from this product.

After using it for awhile, my skin felt very soft and clean (which I liked).

However, it was a little too gentle for my liking.

Although not as bad as some other exfoliators I have tried, I still had some patches of dead skin on my face.

This also didn’t help with any acne I had, which was disappointing.

Ingredients

The main ingredient in this exfoliant is pure lily extract.

Lily is used in many cosmetic products as it is said to be very soothing and contains anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties.

Price

Dior Instant Gentle Exfoliant costs $38, which is a bit higher than average for a “department store” exfoliator.
