Quick Summary
I’ll just come right out and say I really wasn’t a fan of Juice Beauty’s Exfoliating Cleanser.
It claims to be an exfoliator and a cleanser but it does neither of these well… if even at all.
Out of the bottle it has a very light lemony scent, which I liked. However, once you start rubbing it into your skin it smells really waxy, like crayons, which isn’t unbearable but not worth the results.
I ended up giving it 1 out of 5 stars because it neither exfoliated nor cleaned my face.
This product tries to do too much in being a dual-purpose product and ends up missing the mark on both.
Detailed Review:
Texture/Feel
Juice Beauty’s Exfoliating Cleanser is an extremely gentle exfoliator, which also doubles as a cleanser. It’s off-white in color and looks and feels like a grainy lotion.
The exfoliating jojoba beads are small and overly-gentle, which I was not a fan of.
Smell
Juice Beauty’s Exfoliating Cleanser has a very faint lemon scent at first.
However, once you begin rubbing it into your skin it smells very waxy, like crayons. This smell isn’t unbearable but is not one I enjoy and is definitely not worth the results.
Application Process
I was excited to try this exfoliator because I loved the idea that it doubles as a cleanser. The application process is very simple. You can apply it morning or night with warm water, massaging it into your skin as you would your usual cleanser.
Any Drying and/or Redness?
I would go as far as saying this exfoliator is too gentle. Therefore, it didn’t leave my skin dry or red at all.
Results
After rinsing the product off, my skin did not feel clean. It still felt as though I had a layer of make up on. It turns out I did! I have white towels and as I dried my face I could see my makeup coming off onto the towel. I ended up having to use a different face wash to remove the remainder of my make up :(
The exfoliator is too gentle and did absolutely nothing for my face. I was able to see areas of dead skin immediately after I used it.
Overall, I didn’t notice any difference in my skin after using this product longer term.
Ingredients
My favorite part about Juice Beauty is that it uses 100% certified organic ingredients.
This exfoliator uses dissolving jojoba beads as its main exfoliation agent.
However, I found the jojoba beads to be too gentle and ineffective.
This exfoliator also uses pineapple enzymes as a cleansing agent. Pineapple, as well as many other fruit enzymes, are thought to naturally dissolve dead skin cells.
Price
Juice Beauty Exfoliating Cleanser costs $22 which works out to $4.63 per oz, which is very reasonable for an exfoliator. They also offer an Auto-Replenishment program. If you sign up for this program, you will receive 5% off and free shipping.
