Quick Summary
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this exfoliator. There are a few things I really like about it, but the things I dislike are tough to ignore.
It’s cool that Korres Wild Rose Daily Brightening & Refinishing Buff Cleanser doubles as a cleanser as well as an exfoliator.
Most dual-purpose products fall short in one area or the other, so I was surprised that this product did a pretty good job at both.
Now onto the bad. This product is to be used daily, but I found it was too harsh to use every day.
I actually ended up chafing my cheeks after a few days of consistent use. This is definitely not a product I’d recommend for sensitive skin!
I also don’t like how strong the scent is. Floral scents can be nice if they are faint, but I found this one to be way too overwhelming.
I had to cut back my usage in order to combat irritation, and I just couldn’t get past the strong floral smell.
That’s why I ended up giving it 3 out of 5 stars instead of ranking it higher.
Detailed Review:
Texture/Feel
Korres Wild Rose exfoliator is a light tan-colored cream.
The main exfoliants in this product are rice grain and cherry stone. Typically, I find rice grain to be too gentle on its own, so I was happy that this scrub also includes cherry stone.
The rice grain is very fine and has a slightly gritty texture, whereas the cherry stone particles are very rough and overpower the rice grain particles.
I actually don’t know why they included both exfoliants in it, the rice grains seem to be pointless!
Smell
This exfoliator has a very strong rose scent to it.
I’m typically not a huge fan of floral scents and this was no exception.
Not only was the smell unpleasant, but it was also very overwhelming. Unless you love rose scents, I wouldn’t recommend this.
Korres Wild Rose includes fragrance as one of the ingredients, which can cause irritation if you have sensitive skin.
Korres typically uses very natural ingredients so I was a little surprised and disappointed to see fragrance in the ingredient list.
Application Process
This buffing cleanser is recommended for daily use. To use, massage the product onto wet skin and then rinse with water.
I really like how simple the application of this product is.
My favorite thing about it is that it’s dual purpose. You can kill two birds with one stone- cleans and exfoliate! It knocks a few minutes off my beauty routine, and it did a decent job in both areas.
You’ll still need to remove your eye makeup separately, as it’s very important to avoid your eye area when using this product.
Any Drying and/or Redness?
Immediately after using this product, I experienced a little redness on my cheeks, but it went away within a few minutes.
After using this product a couple days in a row, I experienced some irritation and dryness.
My cheeks were chapped, and I experienced some pain while applying my makeup :(
I had to cut back to using this product a few times a week instead of daily. It’s a little too rough to use daily, especially for those of you with sensitive skin.
Results
I was a little skeptical when I found out this was a dual-purpose product, because I haven’t had good experiences with them in the past.
However, this one proved me wrong.
After use, my skin felt extremely clean, soft and renewed.
Most dual purpose exfoliators are either too gentle, or do a poor job cleansing my skin. This one did a good job exfoliating and cleansing!
I experienced some dryness and irritation after continuous use, which I was upset about because you’re instructed to use this product daily.
However, once I cut back my use to a few times a week, I loved the results I saw.
Ingredients
Korres is a brand known for its natural ingredients.
Korres Wild Rose Daily Brightening & Refinishing Buff Cleanse contains 85% natural ingredients which is always a plus in my book.
This scrub includes two main exfoliants: rice grain and cherry shells.
Rice grains are a gentle exfoliant, which claim to cleanse dirt and oil from pores.
Cherry shells are made from the pits of the Montgomery cherries, and are said to exfoliate, soften and even out your skin tone.
White rose oil is another key ingredient in this product. With consistent use, it’s shown to improve the skins overall radiance and texture.
Price
I love the price of this one! Korres Wild Rose Daily Brightening & Refinishing Buff Cleanse costs $30, which works out to be $5.92 an oz. This is very cheap for comparable exfoliators on the market.
