Quick Summary
I was pleasantly surprised by this facial scrub.
While I have definitely used better products in the past, the overall quality of this scrub for the price was great.
First, I really liked the smell. St. Ives Radiant Skin Face Scrub has a refreshing smell without being too sweet or “artificial” smelling.
It is a white scrub with small exfoliating particles from walnut powder.
The bottle helps keep application clean and does not result in a mess every time you use it.
I tried using it as instructed, 4 times per week, and my skin seemed to respond fine.
I thought it did a fine job at exfoliating the dead layer of skin and removing the dirt/extra make-up.
After use, I did notice a sort of waxy film on my face, which I did not care for as much.
My skin felt soft after using it several times, but I did not get the brightness that I was looking for over time.
There was not much change in the complexion of my skin, which was disappointing.
I noticed my skin feeling softer and felt like it was a good cleansing scrub overall for exfoliating alone, but I didn’t love the overall results in terms of brightening or better complexion.
Detailed Review:
Texture/Feel
St. Ives Radiant Skin Face Scrub is a white scrub with very small walnut exfoliating particles.
Smell (in the bottle)
This face scrub has a refreshing citrus smell.
Application Process
Application of this exfoliator was typical and not too messy.
The bottle is easy to use and store on your counter or in the cabinet after you’re done.
The product is not watery or too coarse; it worked just fine when I used a dime-size amount on my face.
It was easy to rinse off without making a mess or dripping down my face.
I did notice a film on my face after washing it off, which just took a little more rinsing to get it all off.
Any Drying and/or Redness?
I did not have any drying or redness after several uses.
Short Term Results
I really liked how well St. Ives Radiant Skin Face Scrub exfoliated my skin.
I could tell that the top layer of skin was gone after using it each time.
My skin felt soft and did not show any irritation.
I liked how the exfoliating beads were fine enough to get into the small spaces that can be hard to exfoliate, like the sides of my nose.
Long Term Results
I generally felt like my skin was a little bit softer.
I didn’t get that brightness that I was hoping for and have seen in other exfoliators.
Ingredients
This exfoliator has Lemon Fruit Extract and Apricot Extract, which gives it a fresh smell.
It is marketed as 100% natural extracts and exfoliants. Also, hypoallergenic and paraben free.
Price
This is an extremely affordable exfoliator sold at several different stores like Target, Walgreens, and Walmart. It is only $3.59 for 6 oz, which is great if you’re not wanting to spend too much and exfoliate regularly.
